If you ask most women the most difficult part of their daily makeup routine, chances are 70% of the response you would get will be “Eyebrows”. A lot of women feel only a professional can get it right but here is the truth.
"To achieve soft, natural looking brows, an eyebrow definer is advised as you only use a definer to fill in sparse areas."
With a little bit of guidance and practice you, yes you can get it right!
The first step to having beautiful eyebrows is grooming. Grooming your eyebrows involves consulting a professional who will help determine the perfect and natural shape of eyebrows to suit your face. The brows can be shaped by tweezing, waxing or threading.
Once your brows have been properly shaped, you are then faced with the task of filling and defining them daily. To achieve soft, natural looking brows, an eyebrow definer is advised as you only use a definer to fill in the sparse areas of the eye brows. Based on the fact that it comes in a powdery form, the brow definer helps create very natural looking brows as it does not leave the waxy residue that most eyebrow pencils leave behind after a few hours of application.
However, a few eyebrow pencils now come in a relatively dry formula and can also be used to fill in the eyebrows. To get started brush out your eyebrows using a spoolie or an old, cleaned-out, mascara wand. Brush out the eyebrows in the direction of growth. If you are using an eyebrow definer, you will need a small angle brush with a very defined tip for application, this will help achieve utmost precision. If you are using an eyebrow pencil, be sure to sharpen the tip till it’s pointed, again this will aid precision.
Using short light strokes in the direction of hair growth, proceed to fill in only the areas of your eyebrows where there is little or no hair. Be sure to follow the outline that your beautician has created. With your brows properly outlined, it’s time to highlight. Highlighting the brow simply means drawing attention to the eyebrows by making the brow bone lighter. Highlighting also help add more definition to the eyebrows.
To highlight use a concealer or foundation that’s a shade lighter than your skin tone. You can also use a light shade of eyeshadow.
Using an angle brush, apply your highlighter directly under your defined brows blending down on to the brow bone. Blending is the most important part of highlighting. You should blend the highlighter into your skin to look as natural as possible.
So have fun getting your brows right and remember practice makes perfect!
